MEDIA INC (TFSM, 0.17)- The Internet advertising network said it plans
to seek shareholder approval for a reverse stock split in order to raise
its share price above NASDAQ's minimum listing requirements.
COSTCO WHOLESALE (COST, 37.66)- The
membership warehouse operator said August same store sales rose 4%.
August total sales increased 10% to $2.74 billion.
CVS CORP (CVS, 37.00)- The
drugstore operator said August same store sales rose 0.8%. August
total sales increased 10.9% to $1.67 billion.
EDELBROCK CORP (EDEL, 9.26)- The
maker of aftermarket auto and motorcycle parts said its fourth quarter
earnings fell 27.6% to 42 cents per share. Revenues in the quarter
slipped 2.2% to $36.3 million.
HERCULES INC (HPC, 11.20)- The
maker of specialty chemicals said it will cut 300 jobs, or 3% of its
workforce as part of a cost-reduction program.
KOHL'S CORPORATION (KSS, 55.85)-
The retailer said August same store sales rose 4.9%. August total
sales increased 18% to $559.8 million.
MOVADO GROUP INC (MOV, 18.25)-
The watchmaker beat estimates by four cents as its second quarter earnings
rose 5% to 42 cents per share. Revenues in the quarter increased
2.9% to $78.4 million. Gross margins improved to 61.2% from last
year's 60.1%.
SHAW GROUP INC (SGR, 27.79)- The
maker of fabricated piping systems said it expects to exceed analysts'
2002 expectations. The company now sees earnings of $2.15-$2.25 per
share, compared to analysts' estimates of $1.83. The company said it
sees revenues of $2.2-$2.4 billion, above analysts' estimates of $1.9
billion.
