quarter earnings fell to 30 cents per share from last year's 39 cents.
Revenues rose 24% to $70.8 million in the quarter, but same restaurant

DURAMED PHARMACEUTICALS (DRMD, 7.34)-
The generic drugmaker said its fourth quarter loss widened to 53 cents per
share from last year's 15 cents. Revenues increased 12.8% to $15.9
million in the quarter.
EQUINOX SYSTEMS (EQNX, 7.75)- The
maker of remote control server software warned that first quarter earnings
and revenues will fall short of expectations. The company now sees
revenues of $3 million in the quarter and expects to post a net loss.
Analysts were looking for a profit of five cents. The company
attributed the shortfall to "Y2K related issues". The
shares fell 1 in after hours trading on the news.
HUTCHINSON TECHNOLOGY (HTCH, 18.31)-
The maker of disk drive components warned that its second quarter loss
will be wider than expected. The company now sees a loss of
$0.40-$0.45 in the quarter, compared to analysts' expectations of a loss
of 23 cents. The company expects second quarter revenues to fall $13
million sequentially to $111 million. The company attributed the
lowered forecast to weaker demand for its products. The shares fell
1.31 in after hours trading on the news.
IMPAC MORTGAGE HOLDINGS (IMH, 3.43)-
The REIT warned that first quarter earnings will fall short of
expectations due to securities losses. The company now sees a loss
in the quarter, compared to analysts' expectations of a profit of 20
cents.
IXOS SOFTWARE AG (XOSY, 77.50)-
The maker of Internet document management software warned that it will
report a "significant" third quarter operating loss due to lower
than expected revenues and higher costs.
KRONOS INC (KRON, 41.63)- The
maker of labor management software warned that second quarter revenues and
earnings will miss earlier forecasts. The company now sees revenues
of $61-$63 million in the quarter and earnings of $0.13-$0.15.
Analysts were looking for the company to earn 46 cents. The company
attributed the shortfall to Y2K aftereffects.
ORBITAL SCIENCES (ORB, 14.68)-
The maker of space infrastructure products warned that it will post a
larger than expected fourth quarter loss. The company now sees a
loss of $0.48-$0.58 per share in the quarter. Analysts were looking
for a loss of 38 cents.
POLICY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (PMS, 8.75)-
The enterprise software maker missed estimates by 17 cents as it reported
a fourth quarter loss of 18 cents per share, excluding charges, compared
to last year's profit of 34 cents. Revenues in the quarter fell to
$141 million from last year's $171 million.
PRISON REALTY TRUST (PZN, 3.43)-
The REIT reported full year 1999 revenues of $285.7 million and a loss of
54 cents per share. The company said its auditors have raised doubts
about its ability to continue as a going concern. The company said
it is in talks with a potential equity investor, and it is considering
corporate and debt restructuring.
RAINFOREST CAFE INC (RAIN, 3.50)-
The theme restaurant operator warned that first quarter earnings will fall
short of expectations. The company now sees a loss of $0.03-$0.04
per share in the quarter. Analysts were looking for a profit of
eight cents. The company said same restaurant sales fell 7.0% in
February and retail same store sales tumbled 25.8% due to a slowdown in
the sales of Beanie Babies.
SUNHAWK.COM CORP (SNHK, 17.50)-
The maker of digital rights management software said its first quarter
loss widened to 82 cents per share from last year's loss of 67 cents.
Revenues jumped 140% to $39,556.
UNION CARBIDE (UK, 57.68)- The
chemicals producer said it expects to exceed the consensus analyst first
quarter estimate of 54 cents per share. The company now sees earnings of
68 cents in the quarter.

BATH & BEYOND (BBBY, 33.50)- The domestics retailer beat estimates
by four cents as fourth quarter earnings rose 41.5% to 34 cents per share.
Revenues increased 37% to $574.6 million in the quarter, and same store
sales climbed 9.6%. The company said it plans to open 60 superstores
in fiscal 2000. The shares rose 0.75 in after hours trading on the
news.
CABLETRON SYSTEMS (CS, 47.75)-
The network equipment maker beat estimates by a penny as fourth quarter
earnings rose 25% to 15 cents per share. Revenues in the quarter
increased 10.6% to $381.8 million. The shares are down 3.63 in
European trading on the news.
CASTLE & COOKE INC (CCS, 12)-
The Hawaiian real estate developer and resort owner has received a bid
from Flexi-Van Leasing to acquire the remaining 73% of the company for $17
per share.
FRITZ COMPANIES (FRTZ, 9)- The
logistics company beat estimates by five cents as its third quarter loss
narrowed to four cents per share from last year's loss of eight cents.
Revenues rose 10.1% to $148.5 million in the quarter.
IMCLONE SYSTEMS (IMCL, 77.56)-
The biotech said its fourth quarter loss widened to 35 cents per share
from last year's loss of 34 cents. Revenues in the quarter increased
to $1.12 million from last year's $0.76 million.
MICRON TECHNOLOGY (MU, 127.25)-
The memory chipmaker announced a 2 for 1 stock split.
PENN NATIONAL GAMING (PENN, 10.56)-
The racetrack operator said it has purchased the remaining 11% of horse
track Charles Town Races from BDC Group for $6 million. The company
expects the transaction to be accretive to first quarter earnings.
PEP BOYS, MANNY, MOE, AND JACK (PBY,
6.50)- The auto service chain will be removed from the S&P 500
after the close on Friday. The company will be moved to the S&P
SmallCap 600 index.
PULASKI FURNITURE (PLFC, 16.75)-
The home furniture maker has agreed to be acquired by its senior
management for $22.50 per share in a $125 million all-cash deal.
SEVEN SEAS PETROLEUM (SEV, 2)-
The oil and gas explorer said its fourth quarter loss narrowed to two
cents per share from last year's loss of $2.40. Fourth quarter
revenues increased to $2.6 million from the prior year's $1.1 million.
U.S. FRANCHISE SYSTEMS (USFS, 6)-
The hotel operator missed estimates by 8 cents as it reported flat fourth
quarter earnings of a penny a share. Revenues rose 52% to $4.8
million in the quarter. The company said it has hired Banc of
America to help it explore strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder
value.
VERITAS SOFTWARE (VRTS, 142.50)-
The maker of enterprise storage management software will be added to the
S&P 500 after the close on Friday.

INDUSTRIES (ACK, 18.94)- The maker of floor and ceiling products
warned that first quarter earnings will fall short of expectations.
The company now sees earnings of $0.65-$0.75 per share in the quarter,
compared to analysts' expectations of 99 cents. The company
attributed the shortfall to weak European sales and higher raw materials
prices.
BEN & JERRY'S HOMEMADE (BJICA,
29.97)- The ice cream maker has reportedly decided to become privately
held, according to the New York Times. Under the plan, shareholders
would receive $38 per share.
IMS HEALTH INC (RX, 21.63)- The
provider of healthcare information services has agreed to merge with THE
TRIZETTO GROUP INC (TZIX, 58.06) in an $8.1 billion all-stock deal
that values IMS Health at $27.06 per share, based on Tuesday's closing
prices. Under the terms of the deal, RX shareholders will receive
0.4655 shares of TZIX for each RX share held. The company plans to
issue a tracking stock for IMS Health, and said it will spinoff its
Strategic Technologies unit to shareholders.

MONTANA POWER CO (MTP, 59.88)-
The power and telecommunications holding company announced plans to exit
the energy business. The company plans to sell its electrical
utility, oil and natural gas, and coal mining units in order to refocus on
its higher growth telecom business. The company will change its name
to Touch America after the divesture.
PALM INC (PALM, 54.81)- The maker
of hand held computers beat estimates by two cents as it earned three
cents in its third quarter, compared to last year's two cents.
Revenues jumped 116% to $272.3 million in the quarter. The shares
rose 2.19 in after hours trading on the news.
WD-40 COMPANY (WDFC, 19.06)- The
maker of multi-purpose lubricants and Lava brand hand soap met
expectations as it reported flat earnings of 43 cents per share.
Revenues increased 2.2% to $42.6 million in the quarter. The company
said its Asian sales rose 26% in the quarter.

earnings to exceed current analysts' estimates. The company now
expects to post a loss of less than 44 cents per share in the quarter.

the improved forecast to better than expected sales and lower than
expected staffing expenses. The shares rose 1 in after hours trading
on the news.
BALTIMORE TECHNOLOGIES PLC (BALT,
160)- The maker of Internet security products announced a 5 for 1
split of its ADRs.
LASERSIGHT INC (LASE, 7.38)- The
maker of laser systems used in vision correction surgery said its fourth
quarter loss narrowed to 26 cents per share from last year's loss of 46
cents. Revenues jumped 40% to $4.6 million in the quarter.
LERNOUT & HAUSPIE (LHSP, 108.75)-
The Belgian maker of speech and language translation software has agreed
to acquire rival Dragon Systems for 5.45 million shares in a $593 million
deal. LHSP expects the deal to be accretive to second half earnings,
excluding the effects of goodwill.
LIBERATE TECHNOLOGIES (LBRT, 77)-
The Internet software maker has agreed to acquire MoreCom Inc, a maker of
software products for digital television broadcasters, for $561 million in
an all-stock deal.
LINEAR TECHNOLOGY (LLTC, 102.03)-
The chipmaker will join the S&P 500 after the close on March 31st.
The shares soared 16.47 in after hours trading on the news.
LNR PROPERTY CORP (LNR, 18.63)-
The real estate management company beat estimates by a penny as first
quarter earnings rose 10% to 62 cents per share. Revenues rose 25%
to $95.3 million in the quarter.
MACROVISION CORP (MVSN, 76.88)-
The maker of multimedia copy protection products has agreed to acquire
GLOBEtrotter Software, a maker of electronic licensing software, for 11.2
million shares in a $861 million deal.

The generic drugs maker said its fourth quarter loss narrowed to three
cents per share from last year's loss of 23 cents. Revenues rose 17%
to $19.6 million in the quarter.
SONIC CORP (SONC, 26.63)- The
fast food restaurant operator beat estimates by a penny as second quarter
earnings increased 27% to 28 cents per share. Revenues in the
quarter rose 7.8% to $58.4 million, and same restaurant sales rose 3.3%.
UAL CORP (UAL, 55.56)- The
airline expects to beat first quarter earnings estimates. The
company now sees earnings of $1.25-$1.40 per share in the quarter,
compared to analysts' expectations of 99 cents. UAL attributed the
improved outlook to stronger than expected demand, a pickup in Asian
traffic, and improving pricing power.
WALTER INDUSTRIES (WLT, 8.56)-
The homebuilder and provider of water transmission products beat estimates
by a penny as third quarter earnings rose to six cents per share,
excluding a one-time gain of five cents, from last year's loss of 33
cents. Revenues increased 9% to $452.7 million in the quarter.

AUREAL INC (AURL, 4.88)- The
maker of digital audio products said that all of its senior staff members,
including its CEO, COO, CFO, CTO and General Counsel have resigned.
Earlier in the day Aureal had announced that it needed "an immediate
capital infusion" to continue its operations. The company said
it is currently seeking new management.
BERLITZ INTERNATIONAL (BTZ, 16)-
The maker of foreign language translation products reported a fourth
quarter loss of 14 cents per share, compared to last year's profit of five
cents. Revenues increased 5% to $111.2 million in the quarter.
The company attributed the loss to economic weakness in Latin America, and
the strength of the dollar.
BIOSITE DIAGNOSTICS (BSTE, 26.88)-
The maker of medical diagnostic tests said an FDA panel has voted against
approving the company's Triage BNP Test. The shares tumbled 11.63 to
15.25 in after hours trading on the news.
COX COMMUNICATIONS (COX, 43.68)-
The cable operator is reportedly discussing a three-way merger with Seagram
(VO, 57.94) and Vivendi, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

The operator of 30 Wendy's restaurants reported a first quarter loss of

US AIRWAYS (U, 22.38)- The
airline reached a tentative labor pact with the Association of Flight Attendants.
The agreement averted a threatened strike by the airline's 10,000 flight
attendants.
